IT Internship--Service Desk

Position Overview & Responsibilities: The IT Service Desk Intern will support the Information Services team by providing first-level technical support to employees and assisting with the day-to-day operation of company technology systems. This internship offers hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting end users, maintaining IT equipment, and participating in technology projects. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, eager to learn, and interested in building a career in Information Technology.

Major Areas of Accountabilities include:

• Provide first-level technical support to employees by responding to service requests and troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Assist with the setup, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of computers, mobile devices, printers, and other technology equipment.
• Create, track, and update support tickets while ensuring timely resolution and communication with end users.
• Support employee onboarding and offboarding activities, including account setup, equipment deployment, and access management.
• Maintain accurate IT inventory records, documentation, and knowledge base resources.
• Assist with IT projects, system upgrades, software testing, and cybersecurity initiatives as assigned

Education, Training, and Experience Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Junior-level students are preferred.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and networking concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications is preferred.
