Position Overview

Abtech Technologies is seeking a highly organized and technically capable IT Inventory & Logistics Engineer to support Abtech’s EMS Division. This is a single role dedicated to IT Inventory & Logistics operations supporting our existing technical, service, and administrative staff rather than building or managing an inventory department. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can take tasks from start through completion with minimal oversight, while keeping operational workflows running efficiently. The experience and aptitude to recognize inventory and process problems, determine what needs to change, and implement solutions that are practical and sustainable while putting practical procedures and controls in place that can be maintained over time.

This is an on-site position in Vista, CA with occasional travel and limited customer interaction.

The position combines desk work with hands-on warehouse responsibilities and includes:

• Inventory control, physical counts, and reconciliation
• Inventory planning and forecasting
• Multiple warehouse and offsite inventory locations
• Computer parts receiving, stocking, and shipping
• Emergency parts and field service logistics
• Improving inventory procedures and controls
• Evaluating and improving inventory management software
• Working with existing employees to establish consistent inventory practices

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engineer Support:

• Escalate tickets with proper documentation and diagnostics
• Assist with parts provisioning, staging, and deployment
• Maintain accurate ticketing notes and updates

IT Logistics & Operations:

• Manage inventory lifecycle (receiving, labeling, tracking, auditing)
• Maintain parts and asset tracking systems
• Coordinate parts allocation for engineers and field work
• Handle shipping and receiving operations
• Maintain warehouse organization and readiness
• Assist with procurement coordination and stock tracking

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum 1 year of relevant logistics, warehouse, inventory experience.
• Minimum 1 year of server troubleshooting experience.
• Strong communication, organization, accuracy, attention to detail, punctuality, and follow-through.
• Comfortable handling small parts, computer components, anti-static bags, boxes, bins, and storage systems.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 65 lbs.
• Basic computer hardware knowledge, part identification skills, and troubleshooting ability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to work well with technical and non-technical team members.
• Proven ability to follow through and complete tasks without oversight.
• Ability to travel in-state when needed.
• Freight and international shipping experience
• Cleaning up and improving inventory environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with: UPS Worldship, Fedex Ship Manager, and Sage ERP Experience.
• Experience in a computer service, IT support, repair, or system-building environment.
• Experience with Basic Reporting and Auditing.
• Familiarity with parts tracking, inventory systems, locator systems, or field technician support.
• Interest in expanding technical knowledge and supporting a fast-paced IT services team.
