Junior Network Security Analyst

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and respond to network security alerts and incidents.
  • Assist with the development and enhancement of network security and compliance programs.
  • Perform security reviews of firewall changes, connectivity requests, and infrastructure modifications.
  • Analyze network traffic, logs, alerts, and telemetry for potential threats.
  • Conduct network security assessments and technical risk analysis.
  • Monitor on-premises and cloud environments for security vulnerabilities.
  • Support firewall rule reviews and ruleset recertification activities.
  • Assist with vulnerability management and security monitoring initiatives.
  • Develop security reports, KPIs, and trend analysis dashboards.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, and business teams to implement security controls.
  • Stay informed on emerging cyber threats and recommend mitigation strategies.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Network security certification such as CCNA or PCNSE.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in network design, implementation, or support.
  • Experience in IT security or systems administration.

Knowledge of:

  • Secure network design
  • Security architecture
  • Data protection and access controls
  • Compliance and security monitoring tools
  • Ability to analyze logs, alerts, and network telemetry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CISSP or Security+ certification.
  • Experience in healthcare, government, or other regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with:
  • NIST
  • FISMA
  • CMS ARC-AMPE
  • HIPAA
  • Experience supporting Azure or AWS cloud security controls.
  • Exposure to SIEM platforms such as Splunk or QRadar.
  • Experience with IDS/IPS technologies and vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus or Qualys.
