Job Title: IT Manager, BI Architect

Department: IT Department

Position Summary:

The IT BI Architect Manager role is responsible for the end-to-end architecture, design, stability, and evolution of Rawlings' enterprise analytics ecosystem. This position serves as the technical authority across data ingestion, modeling, transformation, validation, and analytics consumption layers, ensuring data platforms are scalable, reliable, and aligned to business needs.

This role partners closely with Master Data Management, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted analytics solutions that support operational reporting, advanced analytics, and executive decision-making. In addition to delivery ownership, this role establishes architectural standards, supports production operations, and enables long-term analytics strategy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Data Platform Architecture & Design
  • Understand how our technology strategy aligns with our overall business goals. Help define strategy within areas of focus.
  • Sets and drives the enterprise architecture direction for Rawlings' analytics platform across data ingestion, semantic modeling, transformation layers, and reporting/consumption. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in analytics, data architecture, and other related disciplines.
  • Designs and maintains scalable data models and business schemas aligned to evolving business requirements.
  • Ensures architectural best practices for performance, reliability, security, and long-term maintainability.
  • Leads peer design reviews and provides guidance on analytics architecture decisions across initiatives.
  • Analytics Development & Delivery
  • Leads development of analytics solutions including curated datasets, dashboards, and analytical insights. Lead the selection, development, implementation, upgrade, and support of current and future tools for improving our analytics environments.
  • Translates complex business requirements into well-designed technical solutions.
  • Oversees unit testing, data validation, and production readiness of analytics deliverables.
  • Ensures dashboards and insights remain accurate, performant, and aligned to stakeholder expectations.
  • Coordinate or lead small to medium sized projects of low to moderate technical complexity. Define project plans and achieve project objectives and schedules.
  • Production Support & Operational Excellence
  • Owns production support for analytics platforms, including issue triage, troubleshooting, and resolution. Provides exceptional customer service / technical support and guidance to end users across our global environment on a variety of issues.
  • Monitors data pipelines and analytics outputs to proactively identify and address issues.
  • Supports planned and unplanned maintenance activities, including post-maintenance validation.
  • Drives continuous improvement in platform reliability, support processes, and operational maturity.
  • Adhere to standards in both new and existing software, including purchased packages and in-house development. Follow departmental policies and procedures as well as those for the overall company. Develops and maintains documentation of procedures for support, management and use of all equipment and services.
  • Participate in IT department budget discussions.
  • Manage relationships and service contracts with various technology vendors and negotiate small contracts.
  • Integration & Ecosystem Enablement
  • Leads integrations between analytics platforms and downstream visualization tools.
  • Coordinates cross-system data flows to ensure data consistency and integrity.
  • Partners with Infrastructure teams on system upgrades, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
  • Participates in budget and investment discussions that inform business intelligence tooling and ecosystem decisions.
  • Serves as a technical escalation point for vendor coordination and complex platform issues.

Stakeholder Partnership & Leadership

  • Partners with business stakeholders to define analytics priorities, success criteria, and roadmap alignment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate technical information independently and effectively in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences including Managers and Directors.
  • Facilitates knowledge transfer and documentation for internal teams. Provide ongoing mentoring to teammates to support a culture of excellence and customer service.
  • Acts as a trusted technical advisor influencing analytics standards and long-term data strategy.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Analytics Engineering, or Business Intelligence roles.
  • Advanced hands-on experience working with one or more IT areas of expertise within BI such as data warehousing (such as Incorta), schema design, performance tuning, and enterprise BI tools (Such as Tableau or Power BI).
  • Strong experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce Data Cloud or Salesforce-derived data into analytics platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data validation, testing methodologies, and production analytics support.
  • Exposure to data science concepts such as statistical analysis, predictive modeling, or ML enablement is a plus.
  • Independent analytical, problem-solving, skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally.
  • Result oriented with emphasis on leadership and team building to actively seek new challenges and work outside of comfort zone.
  • Ability to remain agile and adjust priorities based on workload, management directives and customer demands.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • General office working conditions with moderate travel domestically. Additionally, the requirement of having a cell phone with high-speed internet access from home as required for support.
