About the Role
We are looking for an IT Manager to own IT operations and build the company's IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for everything from front-line support and identity management to enterprise applications, networking, cybersecurity, compliance, and major IT projects.
A key near-term priority will be leading the migration of our existing Microsoft environment—including Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, and Azure—to Microsoft 365 GCC High, while building the IT and security controls necessary to support NIST SP 800-171 compliance.
This is a hands-on role. You should be equally comfortable troubleshooting an employee's laptop, administering Microsoft 365, improving a factory network, and building the systems and processes the company will need as it grows.
You will inherit an evolving environment, not a finished IT organization. We expect you to identify gaps, make pragmatic decisions, build scalable solutions, and automate repetitive work wherever possible.
What You'll Do
- Own IT operations across employee systems, business applications, engineering infrastructure, office networks, and the factory floor.
- Lead the migration of Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Azure, identity, and associated services into a Microsoft 365 GCC High environment.
- Own the technical implementation of IT and security controls required to achieve and maintain NIST SP 800-171 compliance, while supporting the company's broader CMMC readiness.
- Build and execute an IT roadmap that aligns infrastructure, security, systems, and spending with company growth and defense compliance requirements.
- Own front-line support, identity and access, endpoint management, and IT asset management across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Administer Microsoft 365, including Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, Teams, and the company's broader SaaS and cloud environment.
- Own network and infrastructure reliability across office, engineering, manufacturing, and test environments.
- Lead system implementations, migrations, and infrastructure improvements as the company scales.
- Own hardware and software procurement, licensing, vendors, and IT budget planning.
- Automate repetitive workflows using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or other appropriate tooling.
- Build the documentation, policies, controls, and runbooks needed to support compliance and allow the IT function to scale beyond you.
Skills We're Hiring For
- 5+ years of hands-on IT experience, ideally in a fast-paced manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or technology environment.
- Strong Microsoft ecosystem experience, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure.
- Experience migrating, deploying, or administering Microsoft 365 GCC High or another Microsoft Government cloud environment.
- Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-171, including translating compliance requirements into practical IT architecture, policies, and technical controls.
- Broad technical experience across IT infrastructure, networking, endpoint management, identity, cloud systems, and cybersecurity.
- Hands-on experience supporting Windows and macOS environments, with comfort working in Linux.
- Experience with networking, firewalls, cloud infrastructure, and business-critical systems.
- Experience with identity and endpoint management platforms such as Entra ID, Okta, Intune, Jamf, or Apple Business Manager.
- Scripting ability in PowerShell, Bash, or Python, with an instinct to automate repetitive work.
- A builder's mindset. You can walk into an incomplete environment, determine what matters, and build a practical solution without waiting for perfect requirements.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and business judgment.
- Comfortable operating independently and staying composed when priorities change or critical systems are down.
Bonus Points For
- Direct experience leading a commercial Microsoft 365 to GCC High migration.
- Experience implementing NIST SP 800-171 controls and preparing an organization for CMMC assessment.
- IT experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or another hardware-intensive environment.
- Networking depth across VLANs, firewalls, and segmented manufacturing or test networks.
- Experience with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or other regulated cloud environments.
- Experience supporting CAD workstations, PLM or ERP systems, license servers, or manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with cybersecurity tooling such as SIEM, vulnerability management, or XDR/EDR platforms.
- Experience owning IT budgets, vendors, software licensing, and procurement.
- Startup experience building IT infrastructure and processes from the ground up.
