IT Network Engineer

Nature and Scope

The IT Network Engineer is responsible for contributing to the design, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and support of ARI’s enterprise network infrastructure and related communication technologies. This role helps ensure the availability, performance, reliability, scalability, and security of Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), wireless networks, cloud connectivity, and communication systems across all company locations.

The position supports and helps manage mission-critical network technologies, including data network infrastructure, enterprise network design and architecture, next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto and Cisco), Cisco Nexus backbone switches, Cisco ASR and ISR edge routers, VPN and MFA solutions, MPLS data circuits, voice and data communications, wireless infrastructure, virtualization platforms, and enterprise phone systems.

The IT Network Engineer works collaboratively with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Applications, and business teams to deliver secure, resilient, and reliable network services that support business operations, regulatory and compliance requirements, and organizational growth.

This is a hybrid position based in Shirley, NY, offering the flexibility to work both remotely and onsite.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Management

o* Support Data Networks to all facilities (NY, OH, CA, and Altkirch).

o* Responsible for assisting with the design & architecture of the enterprise data network.

o* Assist in implementing, maintaining, and optimizing the enterprise network infrastructure.

o* Configure and administer Nexus/Catalyst switching core (Trunking/VPC/LACP).

o* Configure and administer WAN connectivity with ELINE/MPLS utilizing IPSEC mesh and dynamic routing.

o* Configure and administer Cisco Voice (CUCM/CUC/CUCX) add, moves, changes, upgrades, integrations.

o* Configure, administer, and monitor Corporate Firewalls (ASA, Palo Alto).

o* Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, VPN solutions, and load balancers.

o* Monitor network performance and capacity to ensure optimal operation and availability.

o* Support network expansion projects and infrastructure modernization initiatives.

o* Maintain inventory of network infrastructure equipment.

o* Maintain network diagrams, standards, procedures, and technical documentation.

Network Security

o* Assist in Implementing and maintaining secure network architectures and connectivity solutions.

o* Configure and manage network security controls, including firewalls, VLANs, NAC, IDS/IPS, and remote access technologies.

o* Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to remediate vulnerabilities and support security initiatives.

o* Assist with incident response investigations and security event analysis.

o* Ensure compliance with applicable corporate security policies and industry regulations.

Operations and Support

o* Assist with the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organization’s LAN - Network Security Hardware/Software.

o* Configure and administer Enterprise Wireless (SSIDs, VLAN tagging, Security policies).

o* Apply fixes / patches to Network Hardware / Software on an as needed basis.

o* Support the management of all Enterprise Communications - VPN, MPLS Data Circuits and all voice & data Communications.

o* Support and administer the corporate telephony infrastructure including but not limited to the Cisco Phone Switch and telephony devices.

o* Support and administer VPN, Wireless, and Virtualization.

o* Provide technical support for network-related incidents and service requests.

o* Troubleshoot complex network performance, connectivity, and hardware issues.

o* Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

o* Participate in on-call support and escalation activities as required.

o* Manage network equipment lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching, and hardware replacements.

Cloud and Data Center Connectivity

o* Support network connectivity for cloud platforms including, but not limited to Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and Amazon Web Services.

o* Maintain site-to-site VPNs, SD-WAN, and hybrid cloud networking environments.

o* Support data center networking technologies and disaster recovery connectivity requirements.

Project Management and Continuous Improvement

o* Participate in infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.

o* Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance performance, reliability, and security.

o* Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and service providers to support project delivery.

o* Develop automation and standardization initiatives to improve operational efficiency.

Compliance and Documentation

o* Adhere to all IT policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

o* Support audit activities including JSOX, GxP, NIST, and cybersecurity assessments as applicable.

o* Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and recovery processes.

• * Collaborate with other I.T. Staff members with regard to security related projects.
• * Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management.

  Education Requirements and Qualifications

  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

• * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field or 5 years of equivalent work experience.
• * Minimum 3 years’ experience in networking engineering, network administration, or a related IT infrastructure role required.
• * Demonstrates mastery level of Cisco and Palo Alto networking equipment. Cisco Certifications Required (Examples CCIE, CCNP, CCSP, CCVP).
• Other Certifications (such as CISSP and PCNSA) are recommended.
• * Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, routing, and switching.
• * Experience with network equipment such as Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, or equivalent.
• * Experience monitoring network performance, diagnosing connectivity issues, and resolving network outages.
• * Familiarity with firewalls, wireless networks, network security, and network monitoring tools.
• * Experience documenting network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting activities.
• * Strong understanding of network security principles and IT infrastructure best practices.
• * Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
• * Excellent communication and technical skills are necessary to implement, manage and support all current and future network infrastructures.
• * While the position is for the Shirley, NY facility, some travel to other sites (New Albany, OH and Brea, CA) is required.

  Expected Salary Range:

  $105,000 - $120,000
