Are you interested in supporting product lines that directly support the US Navy's Nuclear Propulsion Program? Shipboard Electrical Systems (SES) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team!
This role will facilitate planning and execution of infrastructure projects and Information Technology (IT) systems that support the development and operation of Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems on submarines and aircraft carriers. In this role you will be part of a department wide team of project managers, focused on supporting the Network and Testing Infrastructure (NTI) subdivision.
Key responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining an overall approach that facilitates active management of the subdivision's work portfolio, including 1) prioritization based on mission need / impact, resource availability, risk, and dependencies, 2) execution monitoring via metrics, and 3) strong stakeholder engagement and communication.
Additional duties will include supporting staff in defining individual project plans, supporting financial planning and budgeting activities, coordinating input to various Department level requests, and promoting lessons learned and continuous improvement across the subdivision. The ability to manage multiple efforts simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities will be crucial to success. The selected candidate will be an integral part of the NTI leadership team.
• Experience managing medium to large scale complexity IT projects.
• Experience with portfolio management frameworks, methodologies, or tools (e.g., integrated master schedules, portfolio dashboards, etc.).
• Experience with developing or using various project planning tools (e.g. Primavera/Atlassian Jira/ MS Project etc.).
• NNL PMCP certification, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or willingness / ability to obtain these certifications.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple efforts simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority, build trust, and drive alignment across organizations.
• Experience building dashboards using Power BI and connecting to various data sources, or willingness / ability to learn these skills.
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
