IT Project Manager (Expert)



Location:Albany NY - Hybrid (Must work onsite)



Summary



Expert?level Project Manager (84+ months) responsible for leading multiple large IT projects, including COTS implementations and custom application development, following SSDLC standards. Role includes full project lifecycle oversight, vendor management, and executive?level reporting for NYS ITS.



Key Responsibilities




  • Manage 3 5 concurrent application development and COTS projects, including upgrades, configurations, integrations, and issue triage.

  • Maintain project budgets, MS Project schedules, scope, communication plans, risks, and status reports.

  • Lead Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid project activities, including scrum sessions and schedule updates.

  • Develop scope documents, review deliverables, manage acceptance, and oversee change control.

  • Direct QA, system testing, UAT coordination, defect tracking, and quality governance.

  • Present project updates to ITS and agency leadership.

  • Lead multi?phase, high?visibility government IT projects, preferably in criminal justice or corrections.

  • Support business process re?engineering and organizational change management.



Required Experience




  • 84+ months managing large IT projects with COTS and custom development.

  • 84+ months managing project execution: budgets, schedules, scope, communication, PM plans, quality.

  • 84+ months building and managing MS Project schedules using Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methods.

  • 84+ months developing scope documents, reviewing deliverables, and managing change requests.

  • 84+ months in QA, system testing, UAT, and quality governance.

  • 84+ months leading high?visibility State/Federal IT projects.

  • 36+ months post?PMP experience in process re?engineering and organizational change.

  • PMP (strongly preferred)
