Technical Project Manager

Our client is looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join a data solutions team supporting reporting, governance, and platform modernization work. This is a role for someone who can step in quickly, operate independently, and bring order to complex, cross-functional data programs. You will sit close to senior leadership, translating technical progress and tradeoffs into clear, decision-ready updates while staying grounded in the day-to-day execution that keeps initiatives moving. If you are comfortable working through ambiguity and have a track record of sequencing complicated work and keeping stakeholders aligned, this is a strong fit.

Job Type: Long Term Contract

Location: Hybrid in LA, CA or Chicago, IL

Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $75 - $85/HR W2

What You'll Do:

• Drive delivery of data initiatives, ensuring milestones, risks, and dependencies are tracked and clearly communicated
• Produce concise executive updates that highlight progress, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions for senior leadership
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and document processes, collaborating across technology, business, risk, compliance, and operations teams
• Support data foundation efforts including cloud migration, data modeling, data dictionaries, reporting frameworks, master data management, and data warehouse decommissioning
• Write and manage Jira stories and backlogs, support sprint planning and Agile ceremonies, and drive adoption through clear documentation and communications

What Gets You the Job:

• 7+ years of experience in project, program, or delivery leadership roles within data, technology, or data-driven environments
• Exceptional executive communication skills, with demonstrated ability to write clear, concise decks and summaries for C-suite audiences
• Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models, with the judgment to apply the right approach based on context
• Strong proficiency in Jira, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, plus a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration
• Preferred: master data management experience (Semarchy a plus), data warehouse migration or decommissioning work, familiarity with Power BI, SQL, or Snowflake, exposure to asset management or fund/portfolio data, and PMP or Agile/Scrum certification
