IT Scrum Master/Project Manager

Summary:

• Work Mode: Remote, but prefer Eastern Time Zone; proximity to Indianapolis, Boston, or Portsmouth is a bonus.
• This is a contract role with potential for extension beyond the initial year.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate lifecycle support for projects such as Windows 2016, REHL6 updates, and GCS access to application standards.
• Support Tech Modernization by coordinating release efforts, coaching teams, and ensuring alignment with delivery timelines.
• Independently lead data review and analysis, coaching, and progress tracking across GRS.
• Create regular reports, raise risks to leaders, and develop plans to ensure project progress.
• Own and maintain the integrated release calendar and coordinate releases across teams.
• Ensure every release has a defined plan, clear tasks, owners, and timelines.
• Establish and enforce standard readiness checkpoints and validate readiness across engineering, testing, and operations.
• Lead cutover planning, go-live coordination, and real-time status tracking during release events.
• Coordinate post-release monitoring, issue tracking, and incident response for smooth transition into stable operations.
• Maintain data accuracy and standardization in JIRA and other tracking tools.
• Track dependencies, risks, and blockers across applications and drive resolution through direct coordination.
• Establish repeatable release templates, checkpoints, and best practices to build release management as a formal discipline.
• Utilize AI tools to monitor readiness signals, identify risks and delays, and improve release predictability over time.

Requirements:

• Combination of Project Management and Agile Scrum Master skills with technical expertise.
• Strong communication skills and ability to track progress and help teams navigate challenges.
• Experience with JIRA for tracking and managing project progress.
• Ability to understand legacy technology and communicate effectively with software engineers.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in technical/technology roles, particularly in environments with legacy applications requiring modernization.
• Proficiency in using AI tools for project monitoring and risk management.
