IT Security and Support Contractor

Location: Harrisburg, PA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid - minimum 40% onsite / up to 60% remote; minimum of 2 days per week onsite/in-office; Dauphin County
Schedule: 8 hours/day, 5 days/week, 40 hours/week
Interview: Virtual
Contract: 07/27/2026 - 07/03/2027. Historically, these roles are extended for an additional year.
Visas Accepted: USC, GC, GC EAD, H1B

Role Overview

Long-term contract engagement. The PA PUC is seeking an experienced IT Contractor with a minimum of 2 years' experience performing technical work in information technology security and support fields. This is a cross-team position to fulfill duties within our security and help desk teams.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide general technology support.
• Respond to and implement support tickets.
• Assist documenting and managing incidents and vulnerabilities.
• Perform network monitoring and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and policies.
• Work collaboratively between teams while also demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required Technical Skills

• Experience in information security related support; 2 Years.
• Experience in helpdesk related support; 2 Years.
• Experience with Microsoft server and workstation operating systems.
• Experience with Microsoft O365 products.
• Experience with incident reporting and support ticketing systems.
• Experience with network and computer security testing tools.
• Experience reading and interpreting security logs and reports.
• Experience working with Tenable and Splunk.
