Job Description, Responsibilities, Requirements & Goals

In this role, you will contribute to our company by continuously improving infrastructure through simplification, modernization, optimization, automation, and execution of IT operational efficiencies. In this position you will provide thoughts to leadership and actively contribute to multiple business-enabling projects while providing day-to-day active support of on-premises infrastructure and company employees. The IT Senior Support Technician will support technology, solve problems, and help users stay productive, promote continuously learning

Responsible for the overall management and administration of all company technology resources, including hardware, software, and software subscriptions.

•       Manage and maintain all company hardware, including computers, peripherals, networking equipment, and related devices.

•       Manage all software, licenses, renewals, and subscriptions, ensuring they remain current and properly assigned.

•       Monitor recurring software and technology expenses and maintain an accurate record of subscriptions and renewal dates.

•       Manage recurring credit card updates and payment information for software subscriptions and technology services when and if necessary.

•       Ensure technology resources are properly maintained, secure, and available to support the company’s operations.

Responsibilities and Duties

·  Audit, Monitor, and optimize systems to achieve and maintain maximum performance and availability.

·  Perform vulnerability and penetration tests to identify potential threats and work on steps to defend against them

·  Create and update security initiatives and provide the necessary training for employees in security awareness

·  Create scripts for automation of the on-premise infrastructure.

·  Diagnose, configure, and repair issues involving the existing Microsoft Windows server environment, including Active Directory Services, Hyper-V High Availability Cluster and VMWare hypervisor, Office 365, and NAS

·  Provision, deploy and resolve issues involving company employee desktops and laptops

Qualifications

·  Attention to detail with the ability to adhere to company policies and the ability to create policies where none exist

·  Ability to learn new technology or software systems quickly and develop a level of proficiency in unfamiliar systems and software

Strong personal interaction and communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical persons.

·  Able to work outside business hours to support project initiatives, system changes and issue critical concerns as needed

·  Practical knowledge of networking technologies including cabling, ports, switches, Ethernet, Wi-Fi access, TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS

·  Knowledge of Windows XP, 7, and 10, Windows Server 2008-2019, and macOS operating systems.

·  Knowledge of one or more scripting languages with Powershell being the preferred choice

·  Knowledge of Hyper-V High Availability Clusters and VMWare hypervisors

·  Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Services

·  Ability to position oneself to maintain computers, including under the desks and in the server room.

Pay range based on experience.
