Position Overview::

The Tier 2 Service Desk Technician provides advanced technical support for end-user hardware, software, operating systems, and peripheral equipment. This role responds to support requests, resolves technical issues, and escalates or researches more complex problems when needed. In addition to handling service desk tickets, the technician supports department operations, assists with network and system issues, documents all support activity, and contributes to technical projects and initiatives. 

What you will do::
  • Install, configure, and maintain PC hardware/software systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve more advanced PC related problems and conflicts.
  • Support daily and periodic computer operations and functions.
  • Perform maintenance and minor repairs to computer and peripheral equipment.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to system users and first level Service Desk Technicians.
  • Install cables and provide network support.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills for Success::
  • High School or higher education
  • 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Personal computer and related hardware and operating systems experience.
  • A+ and Microsoft certifications preferred.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Judgement and Decision Making.
  • Innovation. 
  • Teamwork - Works closely with other members of the IT team and management.
