What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $110,000 - $165,000/year. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location & Schedule

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.   

 

In this position you can expect to work on site at least 2 days per week at the Denver International Airport.

As an IT Solution Architect for Platforms, and Analytics, you will work with business and IT professionals, aligning technology requests, platforms, and data capabilities. This role will mature DEN’s architecture governance processes through IT Product Review, Demand Management, and Architecture Round Table technical review. You will partner with business stakeholders, platform owners, and delivery teams to ensure technology decisions are reusable, supportable, secure, well-documented, and aligned to long-term enterprise roadmaps.

 

Specifically, as the IT Solutions Architect, you will:

• Lead IT solution architecture governance across business capabilities, applications, data assets, platforms, technical services, and service instances.
• Mature DEN’s ServiceNow Solution Architecture and Common Service Data Model practices to strengthen visibility into applications, services, ownership, dependencies, lifecycle status, and business alignment.
• Oversee technology intake and architecture review processes, including New Product Review, Demand Management, Architecture Round Table discussions, reuse assessments, decision records, and disposition outcomes.
• Partner with platform subject matter experts and technical architects to define roadmaps, standards, reusable patterns, and modernization priorities for enterprise platforms.
• Build and maintain architecture dashboards and reporting that track demand health, technical risk, reuse opportunities, decision status, ownership, and governance outcomes.
• Facilitate cross‑functional architecture discussions that translate business needs into secure, scalable, supportable, and cost‑effective technology solutions.
• Promote consistent use of ITSM, ITIL, BPMN, ServiceNow, Microsoft Purview, and IT solution architecture practices to improve operational maturity and decision quality.

 

What You’ll Bring

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

• Ability to understand enterprise platforms and communicate architecture decisions clearly between technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience leading IT Solution Architecture practices, including business capability modeling, application portfolio management, service modeling, technology standards, and roadmap development.
• Knowledge of ServiceNow IT Solution Architecture, Common Service Data Model, Strategic Portfolio Management, Demand Management, and IT Service Management practices.
• Proven ability to facilitate architecture review boards, technology intake governance, reuse assessments, decision records, stakeholder alignment, and disposition tracking.
• Expertise in deploying modern architectural patterns—such as Data Mesh and Event-Driven Design—to modernize legacy environments and implement federated governance across SaaS platforms.
• Proven ability to institutionalize enterprise-wide governance using Microsoft Purview for data assets while aligning IT service management through ServiceNow to drive consistent, compliant, and auditable outcomes.

 

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional information technology experience installing, maintaining, and/or modifying operating system and/or network operating system software and associated hardware. Two of these years must include experience in designing and implementing enterprise level systems and scalable solutions.
• Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

 

Additional Information

 

FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.

 

Snow/Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
