Mid-Level, IT Specialist - Desktop Engineer
30 month contract

--- Project Description ---
The Department of Financial Services (“Client”) is seeking candidates to
fill the position of IT Specialist. The candidate will be responsible for
designing, architecting and supporting the end users computing
platform. This position will assist in developing and supporting the
Desktop platform to enable the delivery of high-quality Desktop
experience to end users.
--- Day-to-Day Tasks ---
1. Design and document laptops and desktops hardware solutions as
well as operating systems configurations.
2. Develop and create Windows baseline images doe laptops and
desktops.
3. Administer and support mobile device management solution.
4. Create and maintain Active Directory Group Policies.
5. Troubleshoot, resolve problems and provide preventive maintenance.
6. Perform system software and hardware upgrades and patches;
including planning, testing, scheduling, coordination and deployment.
7. Research and test current and new Service Desk infrastructure
products and services. Conduct evaluation and proof of concepts of
hardware and software technologies and provide recommendations on
improving current platform.
8. Administer and support remote access technologies.
--- Required Qualifications ---
• 48 Months of experience in the Field of Desktop Engineering
• 48 Months of experience with Windows 7 & 10
• 48 Months experience in technical approaches to design, build testing, and
debugging problems
• 48 Months experience in Advanced troubleshooting and support for VPN and
two Factor Authentication
• 48 Months of experience in Active Directory administration and management.
• 48 Months of experience in active directory group policy.
• 48 Months of experience with Window image deployment and package
creation/management.
• 48 Months of experience in PowerShell scripting language experience
• 48 Months experience in client-based security management tools including
anti-virus, PKI, HDD encryption, and general client-based security hardening
• 48 Months of experience in Networking concepts (DHCP, VLANs, ACLs,
Firewalls, etc.).
• 48 Months of experience with Cybersecurity best practices and compliance
• 48 Months of experience with Client workstation hardware
• 48 Months of experience in mobile device management (MDM) solution
• 48 Months of experience in handling multiple tasks (ex: imaging laptops,
answering the phones, supporting users, troubleshooting issues).
• 48 Months of engineer experience in research, analysis, planning, and
implementation
