The IT Specialist is responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing the technology infrastructure that supports our manufacturing operations, administrative teams, and production systems. This role ensures reliable system performance across a 24/7 facility, supports end users, and partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and HR to keep Paluo Solar running efficiently.

About the Role

The IT Specialist is responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing the technology infrastructure that supports our manufacturing operations, administrative teams, and production systems. This role ensures reliable system performance across a 24/7 facility, supports end users, and partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and HR to keep Paluo Solar running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, networks, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and security protocols across all systems
• Support manufacturing systems, including MES, ERP, production equipment interfaces, and quality systems
• Oversee hardware and software lifecycle, including installation, updates, and asset tracking
• Monitor system performance and proactively address outages, bottlenecks, and security risks
• Maintain data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures
• Provide Tier 1–3 technical support to employees across all shifts
• Ensure compliance with IT security standards, data protection policies, and audit requirements
• Collaborate with leadership on technology upgrades, system integrations, and process improvements
• Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures
• Support onboarding/offboarding processes (accounts, equipment setup, access control)

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in systems administration, network administration, or IT infrastructure
• Experience supporting manufacturing environments strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365, and network administration
• Familiarity with MES/ERP systems, production equipment connectivity, or industrial IT is a plus
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, backups, and disaster recovery
• Ability to support a 24/7 operation, including occasional after-hours or on-call support
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills

Work Environment

• On-site role in a non-union, 24/7 solar manufacturing facility
• Fast-paced, hands-on environment with multiple production shifts
• Requires walking the production floor, assisting with equipment connectivity, and supporting cross-functional teams
