  • Serves as a technical expert in reviewing and implementing the ongoing network operations of network target architecture.
  • Participates in projects involving the application of digital communications techniques and common LAN technology, including base band and broadband media, switches, bridges and routers, media access protocols, and interfacing techniques.
  • Evaluates service-level agreements (SLAs) and quality performance measures (QPMs) annually and on an as needed basis to assess on-going applicability.
  • Serves as a technical liaison to other groups, ensuring effective communication of the organization's capabilities, plans and needs.
  • Oversees IT and contractors' responses to security audits and their corrective actions plans in order to meet HHS standards.

In order to qualify for this IT Specialist (NETWORK), GS-2210, you must have IT related experience demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience obtained in either the private or public sector, and/or completion of specific, intensive training that demonstrates that you possess all of the following four competencies:

You must demonstrate in your resume that you have 1 (one) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the federal service obtained in either the private or public sector typically gained in the IT field or through performing the following types of tasks: 1) Configuring servers and providing network administrative support for applications running on the network; 2) Troubleshooting problems with network and communications facilities and services; 3) Analyzing network traffic patterns for implementing security requirements for an IT network; 4) Installing network hardware and software fixes and upgrades; 5) Supporting network operations and security through the use of cloud and Operational Technology/Industrial Control Systems (OT/ICS) technologies.

To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must meet the following requirement:
