This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool to fill part-time, substitute, temporary, or hourly assignments on an as needed basis.
Substitute compensation will be calculated using step 1 of the level the classification is placed on the Classified Salary Schedule.
SUMMARY
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the Information Technology (IT) Specialist provides technical support to employees and students by diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining computers and related hardware, software, mobile devices, and peripherals in physical and virtual environments, including computer labs and Hy Flex environments. Assists with hardware and software procurement, licensing compliance, and asset management. Performs network and operating systems maintenance functions following established procedures. Requires ambulatory ability to move to various office and classroom-type locations and to bend, stoop, crawl and reach to install cables and equipment. Requires sufficient hand eye coordination and dexterity to make small component connections. Requires sufficient visual acuity to read technical documents and instructions and align small components. Requires sufficient auditory ability to carry on routine conversations. Requires the ability to lift, push, and pull objects of medium weight (less than 75 lbs.) on an occasional basis. Requires the ability to work in confined areas with noise variations, dust, and limited ventilation. Must be able to complete District-sponsored training in occupational safety and health and hazardous materials awareness within a reasonable amount of time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination equivalent to: An associate degree in computer science or a related field plus two (2) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. IT certifications may substitute for education or experience.

May require a valid driver's license.
