The Division of Administration/Office of Technology Services has a vacancy. This position is located in the Data Center Operations Section. Req. 222885
The Office of Technology Services (OTS) aims to be a responsible partner in delivering innovative, effective, and reliable solutions that support and enhance the IT functions within the Executive Branch Departments. The Office of Technology Services will work to increase the return on the States investment in technology by promoting smart decision-making, solving problems intelligently, increasing the rate of project success, and fostering skilled and professional staff.
This is a promotional high level technical support position requiring the ability to provide technical leadership in the implementation and management of public cloud services. The incumbent will possess specialized skills in implementing public cloud service products. The nature of the work is highly complex and requires a deep understanding of people, processes and technology within the context of a large enterprise and government environment. The incumbent is required to have in-depth planning, design, and analysis skills. The incumbent may be required to coordinate and serve as liaison with multiple vendors for cloud services related initiatives.
The Division of Administration is the state government's management arm and the hub of its financial operations. Division offices perform a wide variety of activities including the following:
Minimum Qualifications
Five years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR
An associates degree in information technology plus three years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field plus two years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR
A master's degree plus two years of experience in information technology or administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NOTE:
A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Appointment Type: This vacancy will be filled by the promotion of a current, permanent-status Office of Technology Services employee. A permanent status employee may be required to serve a new probationary period in lieu of promotion.
Career Progression: This position may be filled as an IT Statewide Engineer 1, 2 or 3depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.

Please describe your experience creating, managing, and deploying virtual machine images or templates within cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Preferred experience includes Linux and Windows image creation, golden image maintenance, automation, patching, and deployment through cloud-native tooling or infrastructure automation processes. Also looking for restoring VMs from snapshots and how that process would work.

Please describe your experience configuring and managing cloud networking components such as Virtual Networks (VNets), Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), subnets, route tables, peering connections, shared hubs, transit gateways, or hybrid network connectivity solutions. Preferred experience includes enterprise shared hub architectures, Transit Gateway configurations, Virtual Network Gateway configurations, IPsec tunnels, and software-defined networking concepts.

Please describe your experience deploying, administering, and supporting cloud-based Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions, containerized applications, orchestration platforms, and cloud-native services. Preferred experience includes App Services and App Service Environments (ASE), managed application hosting platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, managed container services, application service deployments, and operational support of cloud-native workloads.

Please describe your experience configuring and managing DNS services within cloud environments, including private and public DNS zones, private endpoints, service endpoints, name resolution, or load balancing configurations. Preferred experience includes private DNS zones, public DNS management, private service endpoints, load balancing services, and cross-platform cloud name resolution troubleshooting. Please describe your experience managing permissions, access policies, or security boundaries within cloud environments. Preferred experience includes Identity and Access Management (IAM), Azure RBAC, policy boundary management, JSON-based policy creation, role-based access controls, and cloud security governance practices.

Please describe your experience troubleshooting highly complex cloud infrastructure issues involving networking, security, routing, identity management, encryption keys, application connectivity, or cross-platform integrations. Preferred experience includes multi-layer troubleshooting involving firewall policies, routing tables, network security groups, DNS resolution, application access issues, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
