Annual Salary Range: $97,700 - $144,100
The successful candidate's placement in the salary range will depend upon previous experience in a similar role.

DESCRIPTION / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position supervises a group of employees within Information Technology (IT) and supports work by establishing schedules, workflows, and monitoring work plans. Provides development of projects, organizational coordination and monitoring of IT and city projects. Participate in IT department planning and plan execution.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following
- Establishes schedules and workflows, and monitors outcomes of group work plans for assigned technical workgroup: cybersecurity, application management, networking, project management, etc.
- Plans, prepares and administers workgroup budget plans, and manages purchases.
- Coordinates efforts to hire, onboard, and train employees. Works with IT employees to build their skills and abilities, and to correct deficiencies. Implements performance management to improve performance and implement discipline procedures as needed.
- Provides oversight and/or leads integrated teams for complex IT projects and initiatives. Provides high level technical guidance to align technology and processes to city and IT goals.
- Proposes and implements strategic goals for the functional workgroup area assigned in alignment with city and departmental strategic plans.
- Collaborates with vendors and stakeholders citywide to ensure the latest technology is understood and applied to each department according to their needs.
- Directs resources to provide efficient end-user support and tracks service requests to ensure timely resolution. Administers and maintains an updated list of initiatives and projects for the supervised workgroups and manages workgroups assets.
- Develops and integrates new workflows, processes and procedures to support continual improvement of existing operations.
- This is a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) regulated position and requires the ability to meet and maintain compliance with the Security Policy.
- May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in project management, cybersecurity, networking, IT operations, systems administration, application management, or related experience.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant's full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Education:
Equivalent to a bachelors degree in Business, Technology, Public Administration, or related field.
The term "equivalent" means that directly related work experience exceeding the required work experience will substitute in equal one-year increments for college-level education (2 additional years for an associate degree and 4 additional years for a bachelor's degree).
Professional Licensure and/or Certifications
- Valid driver's license
- Certification in functional workgroup related field is preferred.
