About Us
Founded in 1852, GSC is a member of the University System of Georgia. The college has a distinctive legacy of excellent scholarship and service. GSC offers nearly 30 degrees, which includes multiple associate and baccalaureate pathways for students. With an enrollment of over 3,100 students, GSC offers an intimate academic setting with state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories. In this setting, students receive individualized attention that only a small college with dedicated faculty and staff can provide.
Job Summary
This position provides specialized development, security and user support for major software applications.
Responsibilities
Provides technical and user support for a variety of software applications; resolves problems and provides solutions.
Administers system security for a variety of software applications.
Designs internal reports for all offices as required.
Coordinates department purchasing; obtains quotes; prepares requisitions for all hardware, software and maintenance contracts.
Assists in researching, testing and implementing new applications.
Provides orientation and training for new faculty and staff.
Installs, updates and replaces computers, hardware, and software in labs, classrooms, and faculty and staff offices.
Removes viruses and malware from campus computers.
Assists students in setting up personal devices; advises students on computer/software compatibility issues.
Sets up computers and multimedia equipment for events and presentations.
Inventories computer hardware and peripherals.
Provides support for peripheral equipment, including printers and scanners.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and Two (2) years of IT or IT support position or one year of directly related experience in a USG institution.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of current information technology trends and solutions.
Knowledge of application development and management principles.
Knowledge of computers and job related software programs.
Skill in providing customer service.
Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
Skill in the preparation of clear and precise administrative reports.
Skill in oral and written communication.
