POSITION: IT Support Specialist

LOCATION: Devils Lake, ND

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: This is a 12-month, full-time, benefitted position.

BACKGROUND CHECK: LRSC does require a successful background check for the selected candidate prior to beginning employment.

JOB SUMMARY: The IT Support Specialist provides technical support and technology services to students, faculty, and staff across Lake Region State College. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing campus technology, including computers, printers, classroom technology, SmartBoards, audio/video systems, conference room equipment, and other specialized technology. Responsibilities include computer imaging and configuration, software installation and updates, equipment inventory and checkout, and maintaining technology according to department standards.

The IT Support Specialist serves as a primary Help Desk resource, providing responsive and courteous customer service, troubleshooting technology issues, documenting and managing support requests, assisting with password and connectivity issues, and helping students and employees effectively use campus technology. The position also provides training and technical guidance to employees, students, and student employees as needed.

In collaboration with other IT staff, the position assists with the maintenance, installation, configuration, monitoring, and backup of network and server infrastructure and supports network cabling and related technology. The IT Support Specialist also provides technical assistance for campus events, audio/video systems, auditorium technology, and live streaming.

This position requires strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, excellent customer service and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the IT team. The employee must maintain confidentiality, follow established IT and security policies and procedures, and be able to adapt to changing technology and campus needs.

Minimum qualifications: Associate Degree in technology related area or equivalent years of experience.

Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar education and two years' experience. Advanced experience with Microsoft Teams, Tricaster and Behringer sound board preferred.

SALARY: $48,535 - $58,240 depending on experience.
