Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced
IT Support Specialist to provide hands-on technical support for enterprise infrastructure, end-user technology, and business applications within corporate office and distribution center environments.
This is a frontline IT support position requiring strong
Windows desktop, PC hardware, peripheral, mobile device, and troubleshooting experience. The IT Support Specialist will own assigned incidents and service requests from initial troubleshooting through resolution or escalation, while maintaining accurate documentation and delivering a high level of customer service.
The ideal candidate has at least
5 years of enterprise IT support experience and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, onsite environment supporting end users, hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, conferencing technology, and other business-critical equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide onsite technical support for end users, enterprise applications, hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
- Analyze, prioritize, troubleshoot, resolve, document, and communicate assigned incidents and service requests using approved ITSM/ticketing systems.
- Maintain ownership of support tickets through resolution, including communicating status, setting expectations, documenting troubleshooting activities, and escalating issues when necessary.
- Install, configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops, software, and peripheral equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve PC hardware, desktop, printer, peripheral, and connectivity issues.
- Support iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.
- Provide technical support for Microsoft Office applications.
- Support audio/visual equipment, enterprise conferencing systems, and technology requirements for onsite meetings.
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including equipment setup, deployment, refreshes, transfers, and equipment recovery.
- Support technology lifecycle activities and maintain accurate IT asset inventory, equipment, spare parts, labeling, and handoff documentation.
- Provide technical support within distribution center operations, including printer maintenance, basic equipment repairs, and equipment return/RMA processes.
- Coordinate repair and maintenance activities with approved vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with solution deployment, testing, installation, documentation, and end-user training.
- Create and maintain SOPs, knowledge articles, and technical documentation.
- Follow established change management, security, escalation, and IT service management procedures.
- Maintain organized IT workspaces and ensure equipment and work areas remain free of safety hazards.
- Provide occasional after-hours or peak operational support as business needs require.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise IT environments.
- Strong experience with Windows desktop configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, and support.
- Strong experience with PC hardware installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Experience troubleshooting desktops, printers, peripherals, and other end-user technology.
- Experience supporting iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience providing audio/visual and enterprise conferencing support.
- Experience working within an ITSM/ticketing environment, including ticket ownership, documentation, SLAs, escalation procedures, and knowledge management.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple incidents and service requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate technical documentation and ticket notes.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision while collaborating effectively with IT, Operations, leadership, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to proactively communicate technical challenges, delays, and barriers while helping identify solutions.
- Experience supporting distribution center or warehouse environments.
- Ability to work onsite and support weekday holidays when required.
Preferred Qualifications- CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or similar industry certification.
- Foundational networking knowledge, including WLAN, LAN, TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing.
- Network and endpoint troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with Active Directory, including basic user and Organizational Unit administration.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments.
- Knowledge of DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP.
- Experience with enterprise endpoint management, security, VPN, or VDI technologies.
Schedule
The initial schedule is:
- Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
After approximately 45 days, the schedule will transition to:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Tuesday, Thursday: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
The schedule includes a one-hour lunch break each day. Some overtime or after-hours support may be required based on operational needs.
Physical Requirements- Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, and handle IT equipment.
- Ability to occasionally bend, kneel, reach, twist, stoop, climb, push, and pull equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient for continuous computer use and handling IT and office equipment.
Contract Opportunity
This position is offered as a contract assignment and is reviewed for renewal every
90 days based on business needs, performance, and overall fit.
There is potential for conversion to a full-time position, but conversion is
not guaranteed. Conversion opportunities generally would not be considered until approximately one year in the assignment and are dependent upon business need and the availability of an appropriate position.
