Description
This position is based in Kansas City, MO and requires onsite attendance five days per week. To be considered, candidates should reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Kansas City. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
Responsible for mechanical design of MULTIVAC standard line of equipment and related components for the food, pharmaceutical, and consumer industries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Independently design and engineer machine subsystems forMULTIVAC standard line of equipment for food, pharmaceutical, and consumer industries.
- Complete engineering models and drawings for customized packaging configurations of package forming, sealing, cutting, support systems, and other subsystems of the machine assembly.
- Analyze sales sketches, packaging specifications, and related sales order information to verifyfeasibility and identify all necessary components requiredfor new machine tooling and customer machine retrofits.
- Complete tasks efficiently and contribute towards achieving departmental on-time delivery goals.
- Utilize and adapt MULTIVAC tools, methods, and processes to solve and design to meet customer requirements and specifications. Actively navigate, identify, and abide by MULTIVAC design standards and guidelines.
- Utilize the following technical programs: SolidWorks, Keytech, Creo, and SAP.
- Provide engineering services to other departments relating to the evaluation of components and assemblies, analyzing mechanical machine issues, and machine configuration support.
- Provide technical or drafting support to package design and technical order processing.
- Collaborate internally for thedesign review process. Contribute towards achieving departmental quality goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical field. Previous experience in mechanical design and/or packaging industry preferred. Qualified candidates willbe familiar with 3D modelingand 2D drafting, drawing databases, ERP software, and Microsoft Office products.
