Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team in Jackson, Mississippi. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a passion for technology and a commitment to providing outstanding technical support. As the first point of contact for all IT-related issues, you will play a critical role in ensuring our company's technological infrastructure operates smoothly and efficiently, empowering our team to focus on our core mission.

Responsibilities

* Provide first and second-line technical support to all employees, responding to issues in a timely and professional manner.
* Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of hardware, software, and network connectivity problems.
* Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, operating systems, and applications.
* Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions across various platforms.
* Log all service desk interactions and document resolutions within our knowledge base.
* Assist with the setup and onboarding of new employees, including equipment provisioning and system access.
* Support the maintenance of IT inventory and asset management records.
* Collaborate with the wider IT team on projects and system upgrades.

Qualifications

* Proven experience working as an IT Support Specialist, Helpdesk Technician, or in a similar technical support role.
* Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows and macOS) and common office software, including Microsoft 365.
* A solid understanding of computer hardware, peripherals, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
* Experience with helpdesk ticketing systems and remote support tools.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused attitude.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* The ability to work independently and effectively prioritise tasks.
* Relevant professional certifications, such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified, are highly desirable.
