IT Support SpecialistLocation: Milwaukee, WI | Hire Type: Direct HireCompany OverviewGlobal Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment.RoleWe are looking for an IT Support Specialist who can handle both Level 1 and Level 2 support responsibilities. This role provides day‑to‑day technical support to office staff and manufacturing teams, resolves escalated issues, and ensures reliable operation of user endpoints and critical equipment. You will serve as the first point of contact for users while also taking ownership of more complex troubleshooting.Level 1 ResponsibilitiesRespond to help desk tickets, calls, and walk‑up requestsPerform basic troubleshooting for printers/scanners, software issues, VPN/MFA assistance, network drive mapping, Email/Outlook issuesHandle password resets, account unlocks, and basic user assistanceUnbox, tag, and prepare hardware for deploymentAssist with onboarding tasks and workstation setupsLevel 2 ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot advanced issues involving Windows 10/11, Office 365 (Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint access), Desktop hardwareInstall/Configure/Update SoftwareImage/Deploy/Rebuild laptops and desktopsPerform basic network troubleshooting (connectivity, switch ports, Wi‑Fi issues)Support manufacturing floor devices (label printers, handhelds, production terminals)Manage Active Directory tasks (group access, workstation joins, user changes)Document resolutions, processes, and common fixesRequired Qualifications1-4+ years of IT Support, Helpdesk, or Desktop Support experienceStrong understanding of Windows desktop OS, Office 365 applications, basic Active Directory tasks, PC hardware troubleshootingAbility to troubleshoot issues independently and follow through to resolutionStrong communication and customer support skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with endpoint management tools (Intune, PDQ, SCCM, etc.)Basic PowerShell knowledgeFamiliarity with networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)CompTIA A+, Network+, or relevant Microsoft certificationsEmployees are required to take, and pass, a pre‑employment drug screen and physical upon acceptance of a job offer.Equal Opportunity Employer/Minorities/Women/Veterans/DisabledGlobal Power Components is an Equal Opportunity and affirmative action employer.
