About the Role

This role requires reliable transportation and ability to commute from our San Mateo Office to our Data Center in the San Jose area as needed.

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide hands-on technical support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure reliable day-to-day IT operations. This role will split time between our San Mateo headquarters and our data center in the San Jose area, supporting employees, IT infrastructure, and equipment across both locations. Responsibilities include supporting Windows and macOS environments, Microsoft 365 applications, user accounts, network connectivity, endpoint security, and IT asset management. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical, communication, and customer service skills who is comfortable working in both an office and data center environment.

How You'll Spend Your Time:

  • End-User Support: Provide technical support for Windows and macOS computers, applications, printers, and peripherals.

  • Microsoft 365 Support: Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.

  • Ticket Management: Track support requests, document troubleshooting steps, and escalate issues as needed.

  • Employee Lifecycle Support: Manage onboarding and offboarding, including device setup, account access, and equipment recovery.

  • Account & Access Management: Support user accounts, permissions, MFA, and password resets.

  • Network Troubleshooting: Resolve basic connectivity issues involving Wi-Fi and VPN.

  • IT Asset Management: Maintain equipment inventories and technical documentation.

  • Endpoint Security: Follow security protocols and assist with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint updates and patching.

We're Excited About You if You Have:

  • IT Support Experience: 2+ years in IT support, help desk, or desktop support.

  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience supporting Windows, macOS, and Microsoft 365.

  • Identity & Access Management: Familiarity with Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID.

  • Networking & Security: Basic understanding of network connectivity and endpoint security.

  • Ticketing Systems: Experience with support platforms such as Zendesk.

  • Communication & Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills.

  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize requests, work independently, and collaborate across teams.

  • Education: Associate degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, sit, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds when handling server equipment.

Bonus Points if You Have:

  • Endpoint Management: Experience with Microsoft Intune or JAMF.

  • IT Asset Management: Familiarity with equipment inventory and conference room technology.

  • Scripting: Basic PowerShell or scripting experience.

  • Data Center Operations: Experience installing servers, managing rack cabling, and troubleshooting hardware.

  • Remote Management Tools: Familiarity with iDRAC, iLO, or similar platforms.

  • Change Management: Ability to follow change procedures and coordinate with data center staff.

  • Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or relevant Microsoft certifications

Actual compensation will depend on your skills, experience, and other job-related factors. This role is non-exempt with overtime available upon manager approval.
