Overview:
Auburn’s McCrary Institute for Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Security, in collaboration with the Oak Ridge National Lab (ORNL), will establish a Southeast Region Cyber Collaboration Center to enhance the cyber security of the U.S. electricity sector. This center, including stakeholders from industry, government, and academia will facilitate information sharing and generate innovative solutions for cyber risk mitigation. As part of this project, Auburn will be providing multi-disciplinary direct critical infrastructure security experiences to students and critical infrastructure practitioners.
This position is responsible for assisting with system administration, network configuration, and IT service support across The Southeast Region Cybersecurity Collaboration Center (SERC3) environment. Students will work alongside institute staff and industry partners to maintain critical IT services, implement secure practices, and ensure seamless operations across multiple labs and collaboration spaces.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with IT system configuration, installation, and patching
- Support network management and connectivity in lab and office spaces
- Maintain asset inventory, user accounts, and access controls
- Provide first-level IT support to students, staff, and partners
- Ensure adherence to cyber and physical security protocols
- Support execution of research and operational IT initiatives
- Prepare reports, documentation, and technical demonstrations
Qualifications:
Enrolled student at Auburn University
Must have the ability to work 10+ hours per week
Preferred Qualifications
Undergraduate student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
Interest in IT/OT, networking, cybersecurity, and enterprise system support
Pay Range:
USD $15.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr.
