Location: Columbia, SC Position: IT Support Technician
Job Description
We are seeking an IT Support Technician to provide frontline technical support within a university College of Nursing environment. This position will support faculty, staff, and students with computers, software, peripherals, classroom technology, audiovisual equipment, and other day-to-day technology needs.
The technician will also assist with workstation setup, equipment deployment, employee onboarding and offboarding, classroom and meeting technology, and routine technology maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with foundational IT knowledge, strong troubleshooting skills, and a customer-service mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Provide in-person and remote technical support to end users.
Troubleshoot Windows and macOS computers, software, user accounts, printers, peripherals, and connectivity issues.
Assist with workstation setup, equipment replacement, technology deployments, office moves, and employee onboarding/offboarding.
Support classroom, audiovisual, and conferencing technology, including displays, projectors, cameras, microphones, speakers, and presentation equipment.
Assist with Windows, macOS, and mobile device setup, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Install approved software and perform routine software and operating-system updates.
Assist with device enrollment, equipment inventory, and workstation configuration.
Perform routine tasks in systems such as Microsoft Intune, Jamf, and Active Directory under the direction of College IT staff.
Document technical issues and solutions and escalate more complex issues as appropriate.
Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge or experience supporting computers, technology, or end users.
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and peripherals.
Ability to troubleshoot common computer and technology issues.
Familiarity with Windows environments.
Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills.
Effective communication skills with both technical and nontechnical users.
Ability to learn new technologies and follow established technical procedures.
Preferred Skills
Associate degree or technical certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Microsoft Teams and Zoom
