Position Summary
We are seeking a Temporary IT Support Technician to provide hands-on technical support within a fast-paced distribution center environment. This role will support both office and warehouse technology needs, including tablet and device setup, basic computer troubleshooting, warehouse equipment support, Zebra printer troubleshooting, label printing issues, Wi-Fi connectivity, and basic networking support.
This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working beyond a traditional office help desk environment and can support technology directly on the warehouse floor. The Temporary IT Support Technician will partner with site leadership, operations teams, and associates to ensure technology issues are resolved quickly to minimize downtime and keep daily production moving.
Key Responsibilities
Device Setup and Support
Set up, configure, and troubleshoot tablets, handheld devices, laptops, desktops, scanners, and other site technology.
Assist with new device deployment, user setup, password resets, application access, and basic account support.
Ensure devices are properly charged, connected, labeled, assigned, and ready for operational use.
Support device inventory tracking, return process, and replacement coordination.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to warehouse and office equipment.
Warehouse Technology Support
Provide technical support for equipment used in ecommerce fulfillment and distribution center operations.
Troubleshoot Zebra printers, label printers, RF scanners, tablets, handheld scanners, and other warehouse technology.
Assist with label printing issues, printer jams, calibration, connectivity, print quality, and device pairing.
Support associates and supervisors with equipment issues impacting picking, packing, shipping, receiving, returns, or inventory processes.
Escalate recurring equipment issues or system concerns to the appropriate internal IT or operations team.
Network and Wi-Fi Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot basic Wi-Fi and network connectivity issues across office and warehouse areas.
Assist with identifying device connection problems, weak signal areas, printer connectivity issues, and basic IP/network conflicts.
Perform basic troubleshooting using tools such as ping tests, network status checks, device restart, reconnecting to SSIDs, and confirming network access.
Partner with internal IT teams or third-party support when issues require escalation.
Help identify technology barriers that may be impacting productivity on the warehouse floor.
Computer and Office IT Support
Provide basic computer troubleshooting for site leadership, operations teams, and administrative users.
Support issues related to monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, printers, login problems, email access, and standard business applications.
Assist with Microsoft Office/Outlook, basic software troubleshooting, browser issues, and peripheral setup.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and functional IT equipment area.
Operational Support and Issue Resolution
Respond to technology issues in a timely manner to reduce operational downtime.
Communicate clearly with associates, supervisors, and managers regarding issue status and expected resolution steps.
Document recurring issues, equipment failures, and support trends.
Escalate urgent or unresolved issues to the appropriate IT, network, or leadership contact.
Support start-of-shift readiness by ensuring key devices, printers, and systems are operational.
Provide basic user guidance to associates and supervisors on proper equipment use.
Required Qualifications
Prior IT support, help desk, desktop support, warehouse IT, or technical support experience preferred.
Experience setting up and troubleshooting tablets, handheld devices, laptops, desktops, printers, and scanners.
Working knowledge of Zebra printers, label printers, RF scanners, or similar warehouse technology preferred.
Basic understanding of Wi-Fi, networking, IP addresses, device connectivity, and troubleshooting steps.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues in both office and warehouse environments.
Comfortable working directly on the warehouse floor in a fast-paced operational setting.
Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical issues in a simple, helpful way.
Ability to prioritize issues based on business impact and urgency.
Must be dependable, responsive, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
Ability to lift, move, or set up basic IT equipment as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an fulfillment, logistics, warehouse, or distribution center environment.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems, shipping systems, inventory systems, or production-based technology.
Experience supporting Zebra devices, mobile device management tools, handheld scanners, label printing software, or networked printers.
Basic knowledge of troubleshooting printers, SSIDs, routers, switches, access points, and device connectivity.
Prior experience supporting operational teams where technology downtime directly impacts productivity.
Work Environment
This role will operate in both office and warehouse environments. The associate must be comfortable walking the warehouse floor, responding to equipment issues in production areas, and supporting technology in a distribution center setting. The position may require standing, walking, bending, lifting equipment, and responding quickly to operational technology needs.
