Job Title: Systems Administrator
Job Description
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise computer hardware and software systems. This role focuses on network server operations, security, data backup and recovery, network infrastructure, communication systems, and emergency management systems, ensuring stable, secure, and efficient technology services across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain enterprise computer hardware and software systems to ensure reliable performance and availability.
- Manage network server operations, including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of server environments.
- Implement and maintain security measures across systems and networks to protect data and infrastructure.
- Oversee data backup processes and execute data recovery procedures to safeguard critical information.
- Support and maintain network infrastructure, including local area networks (LAN) and related components.
- Provide audio-visual support for building systems and ensure communication systems function effectively.
- Administer building access systems and vision systems to support secure and efficient facility operations.
- Support end users with software-related issues, including installation, configuration, and ongoing troubleshooting.
- Manage input/output device fleets, such as printers and other peripherals, to ensure consistent and reliable operation.
- Conduct network audits to identify issues, verify compliance, and recommend improvements.
- Maintain and update operator tablets used in manufacturing environments to support production and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with network hardware team members and software developers to implement solutions and resolve complex technical issues.
- Participate in emergency management systems support, ensuring technology readiness and responsiveness during critical events.
Essential Skills
- 6 to 8 years of industry experience in systems administration, information technology, or a closely related field.
- Strong experience with enterprise computer hardware and software systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in managing network server operations and troubleshooting server-related issues.
- Solid understanding of LAN environments and network infrastructure components.
- Experience implementing and maintaining system and network security controls.
- Hands-on experience with data backup and recovery tools, processes, and best practices.
- Ability to support building systems, including audio-visual and communication technologies.
- Experience administering building access and vision systems in an enterprise or facility setting.
- Proficiency in supporting end user software, including deployment, configuration, and issue resolution.
- Experience managing input/output device fleets such as printers and related peripherals.
- Ability to perform network audits and document findings and recommendations.
- Experience maintaining and updating operator tablets or similar devices in manufacturing or operational environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical team members.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or associate degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is desired but not required.
- Experience working closely with network hardware teams and software developers on integrated solutions.
- Familiarity with emergency management systems and their technology requirements.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and contribute to shared goals.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing multiple systems and tasks.
Work Environment
The role is part of a collaborative IT team of approximately 9 to 11 professionals who work closely to support enterprise systems and infrastructure. You will regularly interact with network hardware specialists and software developers to design, implement, and maintain integrated solutions. The environment emphasizes teamwork, communication, and shared responsibility for system reliability and security. Work is primarily performed in an office and technical facility setting, supporting both corporate and manufacturing operations, with access to modern IT tools and equipment.
