Job SummaryWe are building our internal IT team and are hiring for two IT Systems Administrator roles. Both roles start from the same core foundation - hands-on Microsoft 365, cloud, and end-user support - and each will grow into a specialized track over the first 12–24 months, based on the strengths and interests we identify through the hiring process and your first months on the team: - Track A — Cloud Infrastructure & Security: owning the security, reliability, and scalability of our Azure/M365 platform.
- Track B — Business Systems & Automation: building the tools, automations, and data/AI capabilities that help our teams work smarter.
You don't need to already be an expert in your track's advanced skills to apply. We're looking for people with a solid IT foundation and clear curiosity or early experience pointing toward one of these two directions. Duties & ResponsibilitiesFoundation (Year One — shared by both roles) - Act as a front-line point of contact between IOS users and our MSP, triaging tickets and ensuring SLAs are met.
- Support and administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and endpoint devices across company locations.
- Provide hands-on user support: hardware, software, onboarding/offboarding, and basic Azure administration.
- Maintain IT asset records — hardware inventory, software licenses, and lifecycle tracking.
- Support LAN/WAN/VPN connectivity and escalate/troubleshoot network issues in coordination with the MSP.
- Document processes and contribute to IT knowledge resources and training materials.
Growth Track A — Cloud Infrastructure & Security Own the Platform & Protect the Business - Grow into administration of Azure compute, storage, and network resources, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Take increasing ownership of Conditional Access, MFA, and Microsoft Defender/Sentinel monitoring.
- Build toward owning backup, disaster recovery readiness, and vulnerability management processes.
- Develop automation skills (PowerShell, Microsoft Graph) to streamline recurring infrastructure tasks.
- Partner with the MSP to progressively take over network security and firewall configuration.
Growth Track B — Business Systems & Automation Enable People, Automate Work - Grow into building solutions with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Copilot Studio).
- Take increasing ownership of SharePoint, Teams, and Forms as business workflow tools.
- Develop skills in API integrations and low-code development to connect business systems.
- Build toward supporting SQL, Power BI, and Fabric-based reporting for the business.
- Support AI and Copilot enablement efforts, and contribute to process analysis and re-engineering initiatives.
Both Tracks - Contribute to IT projects: scoping, delegating with the MSP/vendors, and tracking delivery.
- Identify recurring pain points and propose process or automation improvements.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors as needed for procurement and support.
Minimum RequirementsEducation & Experience - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a related role.
- In-progress or completed certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, Azure Fundamentals, Power Platform Fundamentals, CompTIA A+/Network+) are a strong plus — you don't need to already hold advanced certifications.
Required Technical Skills (Foundation) - Microsoft 365 administration basics (Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune).
- Windows administration and endpoint troubleshooting.
- General networking fundamentals (VPN, firewall concepts).
- Comfort learning new ticketing and remote-support tools.
Growth Areas — Track A: Cloud Infrastructure & Security Any exposure to the following is a plus and will shape our conversation about track fit; deep expertise is not required at hire: - Azure administration (compute, storage, networking), Azure Virtual Desktop
- Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, or general security monitoring
- Backup, disaster recovery, or vulnerability management concepts
- PowerShell scripting or Microsoft Graph
Growth Areas — Track B: Business Systems & Automation Any exposure to the following is a plus and will shape our conversation about track fit; deep expertise is not required at hire: - Power Automate, Power Apps, or Copilot Studio
- SharePoint site/list administration
- SQL, Power BI, or basic data reporting
- API integrations, low-code development, or AI/Copilot tools
Preferred Qualifications (Both Tracks) - Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated curiosity and a track record of teaching yourself new tools.
- Ability to document processes clearly and work independently.
- Experience supporting a multi-site or distributed organization.
- Bilingual is a plus.
Physical Requirements- Occasional travel to company office locations is required.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to walk, sit, and stand at various times during the day.
