Position Summary:

Control Devices is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Systems Specialist to join our Information Technology department. This individual will serve as a key resource supporting enterprise applications, IT security, database systems, end-user help desk assistance, and workstation deployment. Working in close collaboration with the IT support desk, this role plays a vital part in ensuring every user receives a consistently outstanding support experience. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded technology professional with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering reliable IT services across the organization. The opportunity will be on site at our Fenton, MO location.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Application Support

  • Provide day-to-day support and administration for enterprise business applications, including ERP and related systems.
  • Troubleshoot application errors, performance issues, and user-reported problems; escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Document application configurations, known issues, and resolution procedures.

IT Security

  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of IT security policies, access controls, and endpoint protection.
  • Support identity and access management processes including user provisioning, role assignments, and periodic access reviews.
  • Participate in security audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities.
  • Promote security awareness by educating staff on best practices related to phishing, password hygiene, and data handling.

Database Management

  • Assist in maintaining and supporting organizational databases, including performance monitoring and query optimization.
  • Help administer database backup, recovery, and archiving procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Support data reporting initiatives and assist with SQL queries for operational and analytical reporting needs.

Help Desk Support

  • Work with IT helpdesk support to resolve IT help desk tickets, responding to and resolving end-user hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
  • Maintain accurate help desk documentation, including ticket records, resolutions, and knowledge base articles.
  • Deliver excellent customer service with a professional and approachable demeanor.

Computer Setup & Deployment

  • Configure, image, and deploy workstations and laptops for new hires and equipment replacements.
  • Manage device enrollment and configuration through endpoint management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune).
  • Maintain hardware inventory records, track asset assignments, and manage lifecycle of IT equipment.
  • Assist with office moves, equipment relocations, and workstation refreshes as needed.

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.

 

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Microsoft 365 / Azure AD / Entra ID administration.
  • Windows 10/11 desktop support and troubleshooting.
  • Active Directory and Group Policy management.
  • Network fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN.
  • Endpoint management tools (Microsoft Intune or similar MDM solutions).
  • IT security tools including antivirus, MFA, and email security platforms.
  • Microsoft Power Platform (Power Bi, Power Automate, Power Apps)
  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell or similar) a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365, ECI Macola, or similar) a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with evolving technologies.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications preferred but not required.

 

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based within a manufacturing/industrial environment. Occasional lifting of equipment (up to 50 lbs.) may be required. This role may involve working outside of standard business hours to support system maintenance, upgrades, or critical issue resolution. This position will also require periodic travel (estimated 5-10%) to our multiple locations across the United States to provide on-site IT support and ensure consistent service delivery company wide.
