About this Role:

The IT & Systems Specialist is responsible for supporting and optimizing the company's technology infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, and employee technology experience which includes onboarding, payroll administration, and tracking employee training. Working closely with the Director of Finance & IT, this role will be a critical support for the leadership team and employees to ensure accuracy within our data, and that our systems and processes are working as expected. We're looking for a proactive problem solver with strong technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills who will thrive in our collaborative, continuously improving, and fast-paced environment.

In the role you will:

  • First and foremost, align to our mission and core values as an organization.
  • Partner with the Finance/IT Director to lead IT planning, budgeting, technology evaluations, and strategic system improvements that support business operations.
  • Oversee network, server, cloud, backup, and hardware infrastructure, including lifecycle planning for laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
  • Administer and optimize cloud platforms, business software, licensing, renewals, and data management processes.
  • Identify and implement process automation to improve operational efficiency and workflows.
  • Develop, enforce, and monitor cybersecurity policies, email security, backups, firewalls, endpoint protection, and incident response processes in collaboration with the outsourced IT vendor.
  • Manage relationships with third-party IT providers, software vendors, hardware suppliers, and consultants to ensure reliable service and support.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to employees, lead IT-related projects and initiatives, and collaborate cross-functionally to align technology with business needs.
  • Coordinate the systems end of employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including technology setup, HR systems administration, compliance documentation, background checks, and employee system access.
  • Administer our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) by processing bi-weekly payroll, PTO and leave tracking, payroll labor reporting exports, and 401(k) processing.
  • Support learning and development initiatives by tracking training requirements, maintaining certifications and compliance records, and administering workforce development programs.
