Summary

\n

\n

The IT Support Specialist provides technical support for office and production environments, including end-user hardware and software, Plex ERP/MES, customer and supplier EDI, customer portals, mobile devices, and basic network support. The role serves as a primary point of contact for help desk requests, new-hire onboarding, and shop-floor technology support.

\n

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

\n

\n

• \n
• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, applications, connectivity, telecommunications, and user-access issues across office and production environments.
• \n
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, touchscreens, barcode equipment, and other supported peripherals.
• \n
• Support Plex ERP and MES, including shop-floor workstations, operator access, production transactions, barcode and label-printing functions, and related manufacturing technology issues.
• \n
• Support customer and supplier EDI connections and administer customer portals, including approved user access and troubleshooting.
• \n
• Manage approved software installation, provisioning, upgrades, licensing, maintenance, and renewals.
• \n
• Coordinate new-hire IT onboarding, including account setup, hardware preparation, system access, and basic user training.
• \n
• Assist with network, Active Directory, VPN, firewall, email, and access-control support within the scope of the position, escalating issues as needed.
• \n
• Work with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to resolve shop-floor technology issues and support new or modified production equipment and MES workstations.
• \n
• Assist with IT equipment evaluation, purchasing, documentation, preventive maintenance, and replacement planning.
• \n
• Perform other IT support duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

\n

\n

• \n
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• \n
• Experience supporting Windows PCs, laptops, printers, wired and wireless networks, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, DHCP and VPN connectivity.
• \n
• Experience with manufacturing IT systems preferred, including Plex ERP/MES, EDI, customer portals, barcode devices, label printers, and CAD-related applications.
• \n
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer-service, organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Ability to stand for extended periods while evaluating production processes and equipment.

• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb ladders or platforms as necessary to inspect equipment and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.

• Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull, and carry up to 30 pounds.

• Ability to use hands and fingers for computer operation, measuring devices, hand tools, and manufacturing equipment interfaces.

• Ability to visually inspect products, equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments.

• Regular exposure to manufacturing conditions including machinery, noise, temperature fluctuations, oils, lubricants, and industrial materials.

• Frequent interaction with production equipment and manufacturing personnel on the plant floor.
• \n
• Occasional travel to customers, suppliers or SLPT facilities may be required.
• \n
• Must be able to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, and alternative shifts as business needs require.
