Our client is seeking a motivated and hands-on IT Support Technician to provide on-site technical support at their manufacturing facility in Kernersville, NC.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with approximately one year of IT or Help Desk experience who is eager to expand their technical skills and grow their career. You'll serve as the primary on-site IT resource, supporting employees with desktop, hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues while working closely with a corporate IT team and external vendors.

Schedule
  • Monday – Thursday
  • Four 10-hour shifts
  • Three-day weekends
  • Fridays typically off unless business needs require coverage
Position Overview

As the sole on-site IT support professional, you will:
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for facility employees
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and desktop issues
  • Support printers and peripheral devices
  • Resolve basic network connectivity problems
  • Assist with manufacturing equipment connectivity issues
  • Serve as the first point of contact for technical support requests
  • Escalate complex issues to the corporate IT team and external vendors when necessary
  • Walk throughout the facility to diagnose and resolve technical issues
Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software
  • Support Windows-based desktop and laptop systems
  • Troubleshoot printer and scanning issues
  • Assist users with software functionality and access issues
  • Diagnose network-related connectivity problems
  • Document issues and resolutions
  • Coordinate with corporate IT resources on escalated tickets
  • Support manufacturing and warehouse technology systems
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal employees
  • Research technical issues and identify effective solutions independently
Qualifications Required
  • Approximately 1 year of Help Desk, IT Support, or Technical Support experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts
Preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Experience supporting printers and network-connected devices
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools

Work Environment

This is not a traditional desk-based IT position. The successful candidate will:
  • Spend significant time walking throughout the facility
  • Support both office and production employees
  • Be highly mobile throughout the workday
  • Walk extensive distances across the manufacturing and warehouse areas
  • Work in a warehouse environment where temperatures may be elevated during warmer months
Candidates should be comfortable being active throughout the day and working directly with employees on the production floor.
