Based in Atlanta, GA, this role will combine deep technical hands-on work with leadership responsibilities, guiding a team of developers while partnering with business stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership Lead architecture, design, and development of applications using Python and AWS services Establish and enforce coding standards, development best practices, and design patterns Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality, maintainable code Drive technical decisions and provide strategic direction for engineering initiativesAWS Cloud Development Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions on AWS Work with AWS services such as:o Lambda, ECS, EKSo API Gatewayo S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Aurorao CloudFormation / Terraform (IaC) Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and costSoftware Development Develop robust backend systems using Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django) Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architectures Lead the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)DevOps & Automation Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline) Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana) Collaborate closely with DevOps and infrastructure teamsTeam Leadership Mentor and coach a team of developers in Atlanta and remote locations Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance management Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environmentStakeholder Engagement Work with product managers, architects, and business teams to define requirements Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions Provide status updates, risk assessments, and technical insights to leadershipRequired Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience) 8+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in a lead role Strong hands-on expertise in Python Extensive experience with AWS cloud platform Proven experience designing microservices and distributed systems Strong understanding of REST APIs, system design, and scalable architectures Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred)Preferred Qualifications: AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer Associate, or Professional) Experience in industries common in Atlanta (FinTech, Healthcare, Logistics) Familiarity with event-driven architectures (SNS, SQS, Kafka) Knowledge of security and compliance best practices Agile/Scrum experienceKey Skills: Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving ability Ability to balance delivery timelines with technical excellence
