Job Title: IT Application Trainer
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid) – Preference for candidates local to Atlanta Metro area
Contract Duration: Through 2028


Job Overview:

This role involves a hybrid work schedule and includes frequent travel within Georgia. Candidates must be highly organized, communicative, and experienced in instructional design, content development, and adult education techniques.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct classroom-based and virtual training on desktop, web, and mobile IT applications.
  • Travel to GDOT offices in various districts to provide in-person training.
  • Identify training needs, develop course content, and coordinate schedules with users.
  • Publish training offerings and maintain records within Learning Management System (Oracle/Workday).
  • Develop and maintain training content including manuals, quick reference guides, videos, and computer-based training.
  • Engage subject matter experts to ensure training materials meet technical accuracy.
  • Facilitate third-party/vendor-led trainings as needed.
  • Track and report performance indicators, learner completions, surveys, and feedback.
  • Participate in IT rollouts and product launches by supporting user acceptance testing and training.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including travel expense submissions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, IT, teaching, or related field OR
    • Associate's degree + 2 years of IT experience OR
    • IT Certifications + 4 years of IT experience
  • 4+ years of experience in IT technical training or IT support
  • 5+ years of strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Office 365
  • Flexibility to travel within Georgia regularly for onsite training sessions
  • Experience conducting training for adult learners
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and travel logistics effectively

Highly Desired Skills:

  • 4+ years developing role-based training content for IT systems
  • 2+ years instructional design experience (storyboarding, scripting, visual design)
  • Experience with Adobe Captivate, TechSmith Camtasia, and/or Articulate 360/Storyline
  • Experience delivering training through Microsoft Teams
  • Experience managing training records in an LMS (Workday/Oracle preferred)

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow
  • Experience with Oracle or Workday LMS platforms
