Insight Global is seeking an experienced IT Workforce Assessment & Role Validation Consultant to support our client in evaluating the accuracy and effectiveness of current IT roles job descriptions. This consultant will conduct targeted role interviews, assess alignment between documented job descriptions and actual responsibilities, and identify opportunities to improve organizational efficiency and reduce compensation risk.
This role is highly consultative, requiring strong analytical skills, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations.
Conduct in-depth interviews across IT and business functions to understand day-to-day responsibilities
Evaluate alignment between official job descriptions and actual work performed
Identify discrepancies that could lead to compensation misalignment, role ambiguity, or inefficiencies
Assess whether documented skill requirements match real-world execution
Identify gaps between "on-paper" qualifications and actual technical/functional capabilities
Highlight risks related to under- or over-scoped roles
Validate role clarity and consistency across managers and teams
Identify inconsistencies in how roles are defined, managed, and measured
Evaluate overlap, gaps, or redundancies in responsibilities
Produce a structured findings report including:
Role classification: "Validated" vs. "Misaligned"
Detailed insights across three core categories:
Job description vs. actual work alignment
Skillset accuracy and applicability
Role scope clarity and managerial consistency
Provide recommended job description updates to better reflect actual responsibilities and expectations
Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, actionable format

Required Skills & Experience
* 5+ years of experience in:
Workforce consulting, HR consulting, or organizational design
IT workforce planning, talent strategy, or role analysis
* Proven experience conducting role assessments, job audits, or organizational reviews
* Strong understanding of IT roles, skillsets, and operating models
* Ability to synthesize qualitative interview data into structured insights
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* Experience in financial services or regulated environments
* Familiarity with job architecture frameworks, competency models, or workforce planning tools
* Experience supporting organizational transformation or workforce optimization initiatives
