JOB SUMMARY: This position resides in the Whole Child Programs department, providing individualized, school-based occupational therapy services across multiple sites to support students' fine motor, sensory processing, and functional skills needed for educational growth. This role collaborates with educators and families to embed strategies into daily routines, ensuring consistent and inclusive support across environments. This position has set work time and vacation timeframes, please see the attached work year calendar. THE POSITION: The Occupational Therapist shall report directly to the Executive Director of Special Education Innovation. They serve in an itinerant capacity across Alameda County School Districts and schools, based on assigned caseload and student needs. This position requires travel between multiple sites throughout the workweek. Caseload service locations are subject to change based on enrollment and programmatic need. Mileage reimbursement will be provided in accordance with organizational policy for required travel between assigned sites. This job reports to Assigned Administrator. LOCATION: Primarily New Haven USD, San Leandro USD, Alameda USD and Emery USD. (May include other districts in Alameda County as needed.)

TYPICAL DUTIES: Provides occupational therapy services to students with exceptional needs across school districts served by the Alameda County Office of Education in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Assesses and evaluates students' functional abilities related to educational participation, including fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, visual-motor integration, and adaptive functioning. Participates in Student Study Team (SST) and IEP meetings; provides input regarding eligibility, services, goals, and placement. Develops occupational therapy goals and objectives and implements individual and group interventions aligned with IEPs. Monitors and documents student progress; recommends modifications to services and IEP goals as appropriate. SEE FULL JOB DESCRIPTION FOR MORE INFORMATION MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree required. Valid Occupational Therapist license issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy required. Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD) preferred. Experience: Five (5) years of work-related experience. Experience working in a school district is preferred. Equivalency: Equivalent combination of education and experience.
