As an ITSPEC (INFOSEC/NETWORK), GS-2210-11, you will:

  • Identify, analyze threats, and vulnerabilities to the systems
  • Review, analyze, and validate certification and accreditation packages
  • Ensure computer software designs address information system security requirements
  • Protect and maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and accountability of information system
  • Manage the Network Security Program
  • Evaluate unusual circumstances to recognize and define potential vulnerabilities and selects and oversee the installation of physical and technical security barriers
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Selected applicant must have the ability to obtain 1B4 AFSC within 1 year of appointment.

NOTE:

  • PCS may be authorized.
  • Must be able to obtain IAT Level 2 certification within 1 year of appointment.
  • Applicants must have attained a minimum score of 70 on the Electrical portion of the ASVAB within two years, and also attained a minimum passing score of 70 on the Electronic Data Processing Test (EDPT).
  • Employment is contingent upon applicant being able to pass a background investigation and possess a Top Secret SCI clearance.

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing states National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a the 108th Operations Group position compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position.

108th Operations Group -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1)

Qualifications

General Experience:

Must have experience with the following:

  • General management principles
  • Basic knowledge of data processing functions
  • Program analyst or other positions that required the use of computer programs

Specialized Experience:

Must have 36 months of the following Specialized Experience:

  • Techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications
  • Planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment
  • Guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment
  • Preparing documentation on cost and benefit studies

Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent, or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. The degree must be in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree and provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Selectee for this position may be awarded a recruitment Incentive paid by the agency of up to 10% with a completed service agreement.
