Quality Assurance Supervisor - Seattle, WA area

Our client in the Seattle, WA area is a Leading Company providing high-quality, high-performance composite assemblies and finished custom parts that is looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor responsible for providing support for their Company.

Keltia is a technical support services company providing Engineering Design, CAD Training along with Specialized Technical Recruiting services to mainly the aerospace and other industries in WA State, around the US, Canada and Europe. We have been in business 20 years in the US and 8 years in Europe.

Position purpose/core responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in inspection and testing of various products in Aerospace, Defense and other industries. This position ensures compliance to both national & international standards and other regulatory requirements. Applies knowledge of quality assurance standards and procedures to improve the Quality Management System and mentors Quality Assurance employees. Supports Production operations by establishing & maintaining expectations, standards, throughput/ Key Performance Indicators. Additionally, understands prioritization of work, and evaluation of individual performance & individual employee effectiveness.

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for managing individual process throughput within the QA team.

  • Assists the Quality Manager in implementing, communicating and maintaining a Quality Management System in compliance with industry and international quality system requirements including but not limited to:

  • Manage and verify requirements for Vendors.

  • Support Internal & External Audits and Source inspections.

  • Corrective Action & Non-Conformance Reports.

  • Inspection and test methods.

  • Understanding of inspection methods from bench inspection to CMM & PCMM.

  • Proficient understanding of engineering drawings along with GD&T requirements.

  • Ability to understand and interpret material and process specifications.

  • Ability to understand SPC, CPK and other process controls.

  • Ensure QA inspection requirements are identified, planned, and executed.

  • Manage and maintain quality inspection and product release processes for incoming and intermediate materials, components, and finished goods.

  • Monitor Inspection Group performance by gathering relevant data and producing meaningful metrics.

  • Write technical and quality related reports, as well as assemble cross-functional teams to drive results-based continuous improvement activities.

  • Supervise the response to customer events, ensuring that quarantine, immediate actions, and root cause corrective action is identified and executed in a timely and effective manner.

  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities that help to ensure increasing levels of quality and timely completion of tasks.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • A minimum three years' experience in a supervisory position.
  • Experience in quality system audits and establishing and maintaining internal audits.
  • Experience in managing concurrent projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, ability to learn supplier portals.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
  • A record of continuous professional development.
  • Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and ISO9001/AS9100 quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree in chemistry, engineering or another relevant field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with relevant inspection procedures and equipment is desired.
  • Strong Leadership qualities and or prior supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Exostar.
  • Experience in quality standards for DOD, Nuclear
