JOB SUMMARY
Maintain the order, discipline and security of the County Jail. Assist in the processing of persons into and release persons from the jail within established guidelines. Document daily events and activities and maintain current and accurate custody information. Maintain relations and address needs of attorneys, court and the general public. Performs other work as required.

Get paid for your knowledge and expertise:
2.5 - 5% English-Spanish Bilingual Pay (to be verified at hire)
5% Field Training Deputy Pay when actively being a trainer
2% ORPAT Pay annually-for 4:59 or less
4% DPSST Intermediate Certification
4% DPSST Advanced Certification
Lateral Benefits:
Oregon Laterals currently DPSST certified do not have to test
Guaranteed interview
Pay (within scale) is at discretion of Sheriff
Sick and vacation banks at discretion of Sheriff

$70,452.32- $102,117.29 Annually
This position guarantees two salary raises within your first year as long as your performance is in good standing!
Note: salary placement will be based on your level of directly related experience and education consistent with Oregons pay equity law.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
All qualified candidates must complete the POST written test with a 70% or higher overall score and the ORPAT (Oregon Physical Abilities Test). You may submit previously earned test results (within 1 year for both the ORPAT and the written test).
No experience necessary; we will train. Preference will go towards lateral applicants who are currently Law Enforcement Certified and in good standing with their current/most recent agency.
