SUMMARYThe Janitor is responsible for performing a variety of work to maintain the cleanliness and standards for health, safety and operational conditions in assigned areas.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESComply with Westlake Safety Policies.Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility.Provide safety leadership in promoting and creating a zero-injury safety culture.Perform janitorial duties of restrooms, break rooms, and office areasPerform janitorial duties of operation areas such as production floor and shopsMaintain waste receptacles and properly dispose of trashKeep grounds free of litter grounds cleaning dutiesPerform upkeep maintenance such as painting and floor workAssist with minor projects that could include light construction workEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent is a plusMust demonstrate some mechanical aptitude in basic constructionSelf-starter that can maintain a good balance between quantity and quality of work completedOperate janitorial equipment and basic hand toolsJanitorial experience is helpfulPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear and is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
