Pay Rate: $18-19/hour (based on experience)

Job Summary for Janitor:

Performs custodial maintenance duties in plant and office areas on a daily basis, including discarding trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming carpets, cleaning and restocking restrooms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Janitor:

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Maintain inventory on all cleaning supplies.
• Service, clean, and keep supplies full in all restrooms.
• Clean all plant and office areas.

Non-essential Duties for Janitor:

• Empty waste bins from offices and empty trash cans in the plant.
• Periodically clean light fixtures and ventilation ducts.
• Keep front entrance free of paper, trash and snow.
• Empty and dispose of recycled material.
• Clean and polish drinking fountains.
• Notify supervisor concerning the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Janitor:

• Knowledge of proper use of basic cleaning chemicals.
• Able to follow directions and perform repetitive tasks.

Experience and Education for Janitor:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 – 2 years custodial experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements for Janitor:

• Machine shop work environment; dust, grease and metal shavings common.
• Requires the use of the following personal protective equipment when on the shop floor:
• Safety glasses, steel toed shoes/boots.
• Must be able to:
• Work safely in a fast paced environment
• Work overtime, including weekends as requested.
