Hours - Mon- Fri AM Shift

Job Summary:

The Janitor’s primary function is to clean and maintain the offices, shop facilities, and yard, including garbage disposal, snow removal from sidewalks (as needed), and gardening. 

Key Responsibilities

• Dust office furniture and fixtures once a week and daily for meeting rooms and front entrance areas.

• Use a vacuum and mop to clean office floors, hallways, and stairs at least once a week and daily for meeting rooms and the front entrance area.

• Respect business material, move and replace as necessary to clean.

• Clean kitchen and coffee areas regularly, including sinks, counters, and appliances.

• Wash and disinfect all washroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, hand dryers, mirrors, and fixtures daily. Replenish toilet tissue, paper towel, air freshener, and soap as needed. Inspect all toilets twice a day and perform necessary additional cleaning.

• Empty and clean all trash cans using a garbage bag as liners. Place garbage in outside storage bins.

• Clean entrance and exit, including glass, doors, and hardware. Keep the outside area near the exit and entrance clear of cans and paper. Wash all finger marks from walls, doors, hardware, and glass.

• Perform yard maintenance, including weed removal from walkway and parking areas, pick-up of debris, garden tending, and trimming overgrowth around the building.

• Perform and report minor maintenance repairs and report damages and acts of vandalism.

• Maintain storage areas and cleaning equipment, materials, and supplies in a safe and orderly manner to ensure staff safety. Restock materials and supplies through an established purchasing process.

• Perform other general laborer duties as required.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System and the ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products.
