Janitor

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented professional to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, children, and guests. This role plays an important part in supporting daily operations by ensuring facilities are cared for to a high standard. Position requires availability in the evenings M-F and some weekends. Typical work week is 15-20 hours.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, common areas, offices, classrooms, or other assigned spaces
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors as needed
• Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners
• Dust surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper products, and cleaning materials
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs promptly
• Assist with setting up and breaking down rooms or spaces when required
• Follow cleaning procedures, safety guidelines, and organizational standards
• Operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals responsibly

Qualifications

• Previous experience in custodial, housekeeping, or general cleaning work is helpful
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Basic knowledge of cleaning tools, supplies, and safety practices
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform routine cleaning tasks for extended periods
