Description
Position Summary
This person is responsible for general interior building cleaning, including some exterior building property cleaning. Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of all work areas and keep all areas hygienic, safe, and in presentable condition. All work will be performed under the supervision of the Clinic Manager.
Schedule:
Flexible, may require some evening and weekends
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them
Gather and empty trash
Service, clean, and supply restrooms
Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
Steam-clean or shampoo carpets
Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors
Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware and metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment
Drive vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work, including vans, industrial trucks, or industrial vacuum cleaners
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks, as necessary
Mow and trim lawns and shrubbery, using mowers and hand and power trimmers, and clear debris from grounds
Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
Other duties designated by Clinic Manager or Executive Director
Minimum Requirements
Excellent Communication Skills
Excellent Customer Service
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Ability to work as a team player and work independently
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Reliable transportation
Must be able to travel from facility to facility
This position requires 10 % travel outside the local area.
One year minimum in similar experience or equivalent
Knowledgeable in methods, safety practices, materials, chemicals, and equipment used in janitorial work • Commitment to goals and philosophy of Northeast Community Clinic

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
OSHA Category 2 - Involves no regular exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but may require unplanned tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
The work is majority of the time sedentary in nature.
The employee is regularly required to communicate, frequently required to use repetitive motions, move, remain stationary, regularly push, pull and lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds.
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office/clinic setting (in some cases both settings) and to use standard office/clinic equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, read printed materials and use a computer, and communicate in person and over the telephone.
