Janitorial Lead & Floor Technician

Summary:

Lead, train, and support on-site janitorial staff to ensure a safe work environment while consistently meeting or exceeding customer quality expectations. This union position offers excellent benefits, including generous paid time off and a pension program.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 2nd shift (3:30pm - 12:00am)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supervise and train the janitorial staff within the building.
• Assign shift schedules and area work responsibilities.
• Manage employee relations and performance issues promptly and appropriately; document and report concerns to management or Human Resources.
• Review employee timekeeping records to ensure compliance with company policies and complete payroll documentation to ensure all employee hours are paid accurately.
• Inspect the job site regularly to identify quality concerns or project work needs; complete and submit inspection reports.
• Identify and communicate the need for special project work to management.
• Operate floor-cleaning equipment as needed (e.g., buffer, walk-behind scrubber, spot carpet cleaner).
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to customer concerns or complaints.
• Enforce all safety policies and procedures; immediately report and investigate accidents.
• Complete all required training courses.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of janitorial supervisory experience preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently.
• High level of integrity required.
