POSITION SUMMARY:

The Janitorial Specialist II performs routine and specialized cleaning and custodial services in manufacturing areas, including production floors, restrooms, break rooms, and offices, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment. Responsibilities include operating commercial custodial cleaning equipment, disposing of waste and recyclables, maintaining surfaces and machinery, and performing advanced custodial tasks, along with floor maintenance such as sweeping, mopping, waxing, and repairs. The role also involves adhering to safety protocols, assisting with cleaning procedures, and supporting deep cleaning projects and participating in ongoing training.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform routine and specialized custodial services and cleaning tasks within manufacturing areas, including production floors, restrooms, break rooms, and offices.
  • Operate and maintain commercial cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners) according to safety protocols.
  • Dispose of waste and recyclable materials following environmental guidelines and company policies.
  • Ensure all surfaces, tools, and machinery are kept clean and sanitized to meet health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and inventory as needed.
  • Perform routine and specialized cleaning of floors using appropriate methods and equipment, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Conduct regular and advanced custodial maintenance tasks such as stripping, waxing, and polishing hard surface floors to enhance their appearance and durability.
  • Inspect flooring for signs of wear, damage, or safety hazards, and perform necessary repairs or maintenance to ensure safe walking surfaces.
  • Operate regular and commercial floor care equipment, including scrubbers, buffers, and carpet extractors, following safety protocols and manufacturer instructions.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing floor maintenance tasks, ensuring that the work area remains hazard-free.
  • Assist in the implementation of cleaning protocols that adhere to industry regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in training sessions related to cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and hazardous materials.
  • Assist in deep cleaning and specialized cleaning projects as needed, including post-maintenance clean-ups and seasonal cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
  • Adhere, maintain and assist teammates within career path to all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
  • Perform duties of lower graded position within Career Path
  • Other duties as assigned
